1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Civil Engineering Scholarship Program will be awarded to new students each year who are either attending or planning to attend the University of Kentucky (UK), Western Kentucky University (WKU), or University of Louisville J. B. Speed School of Engineering (UofL) to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE). Students may also attend pre-engineering courses at Kentucky State University (KSU), Kentucky Community and Technical College System, or other Kentucky state colleges or universities, and then finish their Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering at UK, WKU, or UofL. All scholarship recipients must be graduates of an accredited Kentucky high school, or high school graduates who are residents of Kentucky, and must meet the admission requirements of the university and its respective engineering department. This is a 4-year scholarship. Students may receive $7,200 per semester if they are freshman or sophomore students; and $7,600 per semester if they are junior or senior students. Freshman applicants must submit a copy of their official high school transcript; a copy of their senior classes and current grades, if not shown on the high school transcript; a copy of their official ACT score report, if the ACT score is not shown on the transcript; two recommendation letters, one from a guidance counselor or principal and one from a mathematics teacher who is acquainted with the student's scholastic achievements; and a resume listing any work and/or volunteer experience as well as extra-curricular activities. Sophomore, junior, and senior applicants must submit their official college transcripts; two recommendation letters from their college instructors; and a resume listing their experience, as well as extra-curricular activities.
