The James Carlson Memorial Scholarship is for students enrolled in the final year of an education program leading to a teaching certificate in elementary or secondary schools. Applicants must qualify according to one of these preferences in the following order: 1.) Diverse environments. 2.) Dependents of Oregon Education Association members (must fill in membership information in membership section of application); essay is optional but recommended. 3.) Students committed to teaching autistic children (must be reflected in the Career field section of application); essay is optional but recommended.
