Southwestern Louisiana, founded in 1898, is a public, comprehensive university. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Applied Life Sciences, the Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, General Studies, Liberal Arts, Nursing, and Sciences, and through the Graduate School. Its 1,375-acre campus is located in Lafayette, 50 miles from Baton Rouge.
