The University of Idaho, founded in 1889, is a public, comprehensive, land-grant institution. It is a residential campus with 90% of freshmen living on campus in a safe, rural environment. The university's engineering program had a 100% pass rate on the engineering exam in 1998. The school is located in the middle of mountains and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Its 1,450-acre campus and university farm are located in Moscow, 90 miles southeast of Spokane, WA.
