U Arkansas at Pine Bluff is a public, historically black, land-grant institution. It was founded as a Normal school in 1873, became a four-year college in 1933, and merged with the University of Arkansas in 1972. Its 318-acre campus is located in Pine Bluff, 43 miles south of Little Rock.
