Nicholls State, founded in 1948, is a public, comprehensive university. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Life Sciences and Technology; and the Chef John Folse Culinary Inst. Its 210-acre campus, formerly part of the historic Acadia Plantation, is located within the Mississippi River Valley, in Thibodaux.
