1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Henry J. and Pauline M. Armstrong Memorial Scholarship honors Henry and Pauline Armstrong, lifelong residents of Nebraska. The Armstrongs were involved in several community organizations and wished to assist young people from Waverly, Nebraska, pursuing studies in the areas that they loved so dearly: agriculture, home economics, veterinary medicine, and religion. Applicants must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Waverly High School in Waverly, Nebraska demonstrating scholastic application and achievement in high school and/or college studies. The applicant may attend a college or university of his or her choice and must be seeking a degree in agriculture, home economics, or veterinary medicine; or the applicant must be a male graduate of Waverly High School who will attend a Lutheran seminary school with intentions of pursuing postgraduate studies at a Lutheran seminary college and becoming a minister. The applicant must demonstrate financial need. Those who receive scholarships are eligible to reapply for additional scholarships in subsequent academic years if academic progress is satisfactory and scholarship funds are needed to continue their studies.
