Idaho State University, founded in 1901, is a public university. It includes a full vocational school along with its academic colleges and is able to offer programs on every level, from vocational certificates to doctoral degrees. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, Health-Related Professions and Pharmacy and the School of Applied Technology. The school is especially strong in the engineering technologies, including electronics, telecommunications and computing and in the life, health and physical sciences through the first professional Pharm.D. degree. The school has the only College of Pharmacy in Idaho, and it places an emphasis on health professions, biological sciences, physical sciences and pharmacy. Its 735-acre campus is located in a residential area of Pocatello, in the southeastern corner of Idaho.
