The Thomas W. Haggerty Memorial Scholarship was established by Mrs. Ellen Haggerty in memory of her husband, Thomas, who was a social worker in Wappingers Central School District. The scholarship will be awarded to graduating seniors of John Jay High School and/or Roy C. Ketcham High School who have struggled to overcome personal, financial, family, or educational difficulties. Applicants must demonstrate perseverance in overcoming personal, financial, family, or educational difficulties. Applicants must submit two current letters of recommendation from teachers or guidance counselors, clergy or persons other than family members who are familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities.
