The FICPA Scholarship Foundation now is accepting applications for three, $3,000 1040K Walk/Run scholarships named in honor of Lewis Davis, Miami-Dade County's first African-American CPA. The three available awards are based on 1) academic achievement, and, 2) financial need, and, 3) involvement in FICPA and/or community volunteer activities. At least one scholarship will be awarded to an African-American student, one to a minority student (may or may not be an African-American) and one to a student based on financial need. A permanent resident of Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe or Palm Beach County (REQUIRED). At least a 4th-year AND FULL-TIME Senior AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION (no part-time students accepted). Will be enrolled and attending one of theses schools; Barry University, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Keiser University, Nova Southeastern University, St. Thomas University, University of Miami. Student scholarship deadline is February 4, 2020. Qualified students must complete the application, along with official transcripts of all undergraduate work and request a letter of recommendation from one faculty member to be received by this Foundation no later than February 11, 2020. Applications will be reviewed by the schools accounting faculty. If the application is selected by the faculty, it will be forwarded to the FICPA Scholarship Foundation on behalf of the applicant.
