Each year, the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police (OACP) provides college scholarships to students who plan to enter law enforcement or other criminal justice career fields or are currently in the fields and are taking college courses to further their careers. Preference will be given to those entering or are in law enforcement; are immediate family members of an Oregon Police Officer killed or disabled in the line of duty; or are dependents of OACP Members. Applicants must meet with a local police chief to discuss their application form then obtain their signature indicating that the applicant is eligible based on the requirements of this scholarship. A letter of recommendation from a college instructor, high school counselor, or a representative of the applicant's current institution is required.
