1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
Applicants for the John Cornelius-Max English Scholarship must be the child or grandchildren, or under the guardianship of an active duty, reserve, honorably discharged, or retired member of the Marine Corps and Navy who served in a Marine Corps tank battalion. The applicant may also be an active duty, reserve, honorably discharged, or retired member of the U.S. Armed Forces who served in a Marine Corps tank battalion. The applicant's sponsor (parent, grandparent, or guardian) must be a current paid member of the Marine Corps Tankers Association (MCTA) prior to the award of a scholarship. An applicant must be a high school senior graduating by June of the application year and is either in the process of applying or have applied to an accredited junior college, college, or university. The applicant may also be a current undergraduate college student. Scholarships may be renewed each school year for a total of four years of undergraduate study. Determination of best qualified and most deserving is based on scholarship (GPA and school honors), extracurricular activities (sports, clubs and academic societies, and community service).
