The New York State Tuition Assistance Program is open to New York resident students enrolled at approved schools in New York State. Students must be legal residents of New York State (NYS) for 12 consecutive months. They also must have completed high school in the U.S., obtained a high school equivalency diploma (TASC/GED), or passed an approved "Ability to Benefit" test, enroll in an approved full-time program, and maintain a "C" average after the 4th-semester payment, pay a minimum of $200 in tuition yearly, must not be in default on state or federal student loans or State award repayments, and must fulfill any service conditions attached to a NYS award.
