The University of North Dakota, founded in 1883, is a public university. Programs are offered through the Center for Aerospace Sciences; the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Administration, Education and Human Development, Engineering and Mines, Fine Art and Communication, and Nursing; and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Its 570-acre campus is located in Grand Forks, in the center of the Red River Valley.
