Temple University, founded in 1884, is a public, comprehensive university. Dr. Russell H. Conwell started the institution in 1884 with just seven students. Now, with approximately 30,000 students, the university is one of the nation's senior comprehensive research institutions. It offers specialized programs all over the world.
