U Arkansas at Little Rock is a public institution. It was founded as a junior college in 1927, became a private, four-year college in 1957, and joined the state university system when it merged with the University of Arkansas in 1969. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Professional Studies, and Science and Engineering Technology and the School of Law. Its 150-acre, predominantly modern campus is located in southwest Little Rock.
