Bryn Athyn College, founded in 1876, is a private, church-affiliated liberal arts college. Undergraduate education emphasizes writing, quantitative reasoning, public presentation, and critical thinking as well as experiential education and spiritual inquiry. The college is affiliated with the New Church, a form of Christianity based on the theological writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. Its 170-acre campus is located in Bryn Athyn, 15 miles from Philadelphia.
