Bloomsburg is a public, multipurpose university. Founded in 1839, it gained university status in 1982. Programs are offered through the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, and Professional Studies, and the Schools of Graduate Studies and Extended Programs. Its 282-acre campus is located in the town of Bloomsburg, 80 miles northeast of Harrisburg.
