Antioch University Santa Barbara offers academic programs targeted toward for adult students. Their degree programs integrate academic and experiential learning, with narrative evaluations of student work replacing letter grades. Degrees include a B.A. in Liberal Studies plus advanced degrees in organizational management and psychology. Other degree programs are currently being designed in a variety of other fields. Since its creation in 1852, Antioch has evolved from a small liberal arts college to a multi-campus university system with five campuses located across the nation in Yellow Springs, Ohio; Keene, New Hampshire; Seattle, Washington; Santa Barbara, California; and Los Angeles, California. The Santa Barbara campus is located in the ocean side community of downtown Santa Barbara, California.
