Chatham University (formerly Chatham College) is a private, liberal arts college founded in 1869 awarding baccalaureate degrees to women only. The university offers masters, doctorates, and online continuing education to women and men. Its 32-acre campus is located in a residential area, eight miles from downtown Pittsburgh. Several mansions in the neighborhood serve as student dormitories.
