Colorado Mesa University was originally established as a two-year college in 1925. It became a four-year public university in 1988. Located in the high-desert country of Western Colorado, the university aims to bridge liberal education and professional programs in a small-school setting with small class sizes. Its 78-acre campus is located in Grand Junction, about 250 miles from Denver and just 15 miles from Colorado National Monument Park.
